A family house,
made for slow days by the sea.
Eight red-brick rooms, on a small piece of land that has been in our family for generations.

From Cherished Heritage Earth
to an Architectural Journey
Nestled within the distinctive charm of the historic Hua Thanon fishing village, this plot of ancestral land has been passed down through generations within our family. Along with this heritage comes our profound commitment: to share the timeless warmth and character of this location with every arriving guest.
The answer surrounds us in every thoughtful detail. The graceful simplicity of the local community, the genuine warmth of heartfelt greetings, and the meticulous attention to detail are what we strive to pass onward. ClayHouse was thus envisioned as a mini boutique sanctuary, designed to welcome you with understated luxury and familial comfort.
From July 2024 to May 2025, the property underwent a meticulous architectural transformation. The rich, earthen terracotta hues coating our walls became both our inspiration and our namesake — Clay represents the raw earth refined by fire, embodying natural aesthetics and depth. In June 2025, we officially welcomed our very first guests. Every journey since that moment has beautifully shaped this retreat into the experience it is today.
Embrace the Lifestyle,
Beyond Just a Stay
We aspire for ClayHouse to be a sanctuary that travelers long for and trust — an invitation to experience the authentic destination through a local lens. Within this retreat, we honor three core values.
- 01
Authentic Hospitality
Regardless of who welcomes you, your presence is met with meticulous care and genuine warmth, embracing you as an esteemed member of our family.
- 02
A Gateway to the Heritage
The morning market rhythms, the nearby historic shrine, and local culinary gems curated by us ensure that Hua Thanon is never just a view from your room, but an immersive part of your journey.
- 03
Growing Beside the Community
We collaborate closely with local artisans and regional partners, ensuring that as our property flourishes, the surrounding community prospers beautifully alongside us.
Hua Thanon is our foundation. No matter where the journey takes ClayHouse, we remain deeply rooted in our original heritage, our refined hospitality, and the timeless soul of this neighborhood.

The sea, before anyone else.
Open the balcony door and the water is already there — still, wide, and quiet. The sound of waves replaces your clock.

A slow cup at !yalanka.
Our café sits at the back of the house, a few steps from the sea. A slow cup before the beach, every day from eight.
The café

The red-brick wall.
The red brick holds the midday warmth, the sea breeze drifts through, and the beach is only a few steps away.

Wide, cool rooms.
Cool air, soft linen and a private balcony. The heat of the day stays outside.
The rooms

The sky goes soft.
Pastel water, quiet rocks, the village slowing down around you. This photo was taken from our roof — nothing added.
Clay, brick, earth.
Red brick for the house; pressed earth for the reception desk, the lobby wall and the café — natural materials that only grow more beautiful by the sea, and feel like home. The same care reaches the bathroom: our body wash, shampoo and conditioner by ADA Cosmetics are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver — an international standard covering everything from ingredient safety to packaging made to be recycled.

Hand-Drawn Artistry,
Naturally Dyed
by Southern Artisans
Every bed in our property is adorned with a bespoke batik runner, exclusively crafted for ClayHouse SAMUI. This exceptional piece features traditional hand-drawn wax-resist batik, meticulously created by the local artisans of the Bang Toei Tai community along the Andaman coast of Phang Nga. Each fabric is naturally dyed using organic ingredients derived from the local earth and flora.
This handcrafted process ensures that no two runners are identical, offering a soft texture and unique organic tones that gracefully evolve over time. Incorporating these textiles reflects our dedicated promise to introduce, share, and celebrate the priceless cultural heritage of Southern Thailand’s master craft with all our esteemed guests.
